 Poetry Jack - performance poet
"Pj is a confident and established performance poet who is pro‐active and determined.   She is able to use her initiative and plan creative sessions independently and has proved to be reliable and punctual. She is also able to work effectively as part of a team...Her ability to communicate with children and stimulate conversations and ideas will enable her to develop appropriate and interesting ways of evaluating the workshops." GR, Sunderland

"...she is a very well respected and established performance poet and writer. She has a rare ability to engage and inspire some of the more difficult to engage young people. She is well organised and structured. She demonstrated her abilities team working abilities by working well within the constraints of the Youth Inclusion Project..." LR, Bristol

"Pj worked really well with the teaching staff and the children in the creation of a poem for a poetry film they were making. The work shop she set was exciting and stretched the ability of the pupils and got them working together in groups. The final poem she created was strong and lyrical and incorporated aspects of the wordage created in the workshops. She was responsive
to the needs of the class and to the other artists involved and fully comprehended and executed the brief in a very professional manner. I highly  recommend her abilities to any others seeking an exciting poetical experience..."

I run workshops in creative writing, stagecraft and presentation skills to a variety of audiences who have one thing in common — a need for self expression. I've worked with women, children and young people at risk using creative writing as a way of improving health and wellbeing, helping people overcome the barriers to self expression that formal education may have placed in the way.

I also run workshops in writing for health - these workshops are fo people who want to use writing in a therapeutic way, for those who perhaps don't wish to share their feelings with others and who would rather write than talk.

Clients include - Apples and Snakes, Connexions Newcastle, Henbury Youth Inclusion Project, Bath University, Chester West & Central Community Project, Creative Partnerships and Hartlepool Library.

Please contact me if you'd like me to run a one off workshop or a series of workshops in creative writing, stagecraft or presentation skills.
